Day 10 in UK- 19.07.09 (Sunday)
p/s: currency exchange rate at July 2009, £1 = RM5.80

The city - Edinburgh is divided into two different sections, the New Town and the Old Town. Old Town has preserved its medieval plan and many Reformation-era buildings.

The Royal Mile is a succession of streets which form the main thoroughfare of the Old Town of the city of Edinburgh in Scotland and it is Edinburgh Old Town's busiest tourist street.

Got the free booklet from the hotel we stayed. bf was flipping over the booklet so that we got a clearer view about the Old Town. It was actually quite easy to walk around the Old Town because it has only one main slate street.

Let's take a glance at Edinburgh's Old Town.

Down to the street of The Royal Mile

The busy street

It seem relax to have a cup of drink or beer at anytime, even at lunch hour. This is their lifestyle and I really like it.

Men with bagpipes

Hooray!!! At last, I saw the men with bagpipes in Edin. They can blow really well. You couldn't miss out this when you visit Scotland.

This Scottish uncle was sitting there and I'm trying to take a photo of him. Then he realize that I'm taking his picture, so he shout at me (not really rude, just shout with a slightly high tone). He was asking for money for taking his picture. I quickly walked away without give him a penny. Luckily I was at the opposite of the road. :)

Actually planned to visit Edinburgh Castle on the day. Unfortunately, we were told by the cashier that the castle will close after an hour and it will take at least 2 hours for the visitation. So we decided to come again tomorrow morning. Anyway, here are some of the "sneak preview" of Edinburgh Castle.

The astonishing Edinburgh Castle

Main entrance of Edinburgh Castle

View from the castle

Since we didn't visit the castle yet, so we took some photos at here.

This is the second entrance and you will need to pay before enter to the castle. So, we can only stopped at here and took some photos around this area.

uuhh... miss my long hair :)

I can't wait to explore the castle, but have to wait until the next day.. *exciting mode*

Lover :)

The HUB
It is the home of the Edinburgh International Festival and a central source of information on all the Edinburgh Festivals. It looks like a cathedral right? You're right, the Hub was previously use as a church.

St. Giles Cathedral

After a half day tour at the Old Town, we were looking a restaurant for dinner. So, Garfunkel's Restaurant was our choice. They offered "2 dine for £20" - 2 courses for 2 people and a glass of wine each which was a great deal.

Condesa de Leganza Viura and Condesa de Leganza Crianza house wine
