Bangkok Shopping Trip ♥ Part 1

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Bangkok is truly a shopping heaven! It was a 4 days 3 nights trip with friends. We made up the decision and booked flight ticket one month before the trip. Surprisingly, the return ticket only cost us RM188. Without any hesitation, we clicked booked + paid! After that, I do all the research for accommodation, shopping route etc.

---------------------------------------------------

Travel period: 23rd - 16th March 2011 (Wednesday - Saturday)
Flight & departure time: Air Asia Flight AK734 | 7.55am
Accommodation: White Palace Hotel at Pratunam area (http://www.whitepalacebangkok.com/)

Address of White Palace Hotel:
40 Soi Petchburi 15 (Somprasong 3), Phayathai
Rajtavee Bangkok 10400, Thailand

---------------------------------------------------

We reached Bangkok International Airport - Suvarnnabhumi at 8.55am (bkk time). It tooks around 2 hours to reach the destination. There were 6 of us and we got a van to fetch us to the hotel. We stayed at White Palace Hotel which located at Pratunam area. Booked the hotel from agoda.com to get a cheaper price - RM86 per night. *price might change from time to time*

View from White Palace Hotel entrance. The hotel located at a very good and strategic location, you could just reach Pratunam market within 2-3 minutes walk. Platinum mall is not far away too, it take around 5 - 10 minutes walk to reach the destination.

Pratunam Market.
It was a rainy day when we arrived Bangkok on the first day. Thank God for the good weather on the next 3 days :)

Platinum Mall! This is one and only one of my favourite shopping mall!!!!!!!!
Do you know that there are 2 buildings in Platinum Mall? Most of my friends didn't know about this until I told them. There are new and old building. Be sure not to miss it when shopping at Platinum Mall. Many boutique owner will come to Platinum Mall to get stocks and it selling at cheaper price.

Before we begin our shopping spread, gonna fill up our tummy first. Lunch at food court in Krungthong Plaza, it is a plaza opposite Platinum Mall. Before we order foods, we need to buy a "prepaid card" and it will deduct the money when we order. Money can be refund when return the card to them.

Pad Thai

"Tam Makmuang" - sour mango squid salad.

Beef Noodle. The soup taste really good!!!!

Erm... not sure the name of this dishes.

This one taste good too.

Yummy spicy fried rice.

A very simple dishes - fried egg with white rice. The white rice was quite aroma - I think they used Siam Rice.

Seafood Tom Yam soup.

Overall, the foods taste good! The price was within RM4 - RM6. After lunch, we spent our time shopping at Platinum Mall!!!!!

When travel at Bangkok, you shouldn't miss out the foods selling at the road side.

"Ikan Bakar".
This fish was highly recommended by my friend. It is selling at different price and you can get it at RM6-8.

HUGE squid. I didn't try this.

We bought many foods from the stalls and having the dinner in the hotel room. There were 6 of us, packed inside the room and enjoyed the dinner! Yummy~

Another activity that you couldn't miss out when travel at Bangkok is MASSAGE! It is really CHEAP!!!! After walked and shopping for the half day, we went for massage at 11.30pm. I had full body massage at 200 baht which was around RM20+ only! You can't get this price at Malaysia. On the next day, I had Foot Massage which cost only 180 baht (RM18+)! Couldn't believe it was so cheap!

We went to 7-11 and bought some cheap Chang Beer + Lays Chips after massage.
