Ramadhan Feast with a Taste of "1 Malaysia" @ Park Royal KL

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

I have been blogging about Ramadhan post since 2 weeks ago and I still have few more to go. Sorry readers, I promise to post something different on next post (hint: it will be a food post too).

Let's back to Ramadhan food post. Chatz Brasserie at Park Royal KL has come out with a Ramadhan feast with the theme - Taste of 1 Malaysia. What do you mean by Taste of 1 Malaysia? I didn't ask the PR but I can get the answer from the foods prepared by them.

They have prepared something local and kampung style buffet. Authentic malay foods were prepared and served during this Ramadhan period and it definitely suite for those who miss homecook foods so much. Of cause, this is my own opinion and this was how I felt when I went for the tasting session :)

With the "1 Malaysia" themed buffet, it has showcasing the best of Malaysian cuisine featuring dishes from Malay, Chinese, Indian, Nyonya, Sarawak and Sabah cooking styles. This ramadhan, everyone will be spoilt with the feast of mouth-watering local specialities featuring home-cooked favourites from the major ethnic groups in Malaysia.

Ayam goreng rempah
This is definitely MUST TRY!!! The aromatic of the rempah enhance the taste of the fried chicken. The skin was crunchy and that was the part I like the most!!!

Nyonya fried chicken, stir fried bitter gourd with eggs, Nyonya tamarind prawns, curry squids

Authentic fried fish, ikan bilis etc. This is so kampung style right?

Ulam-ulam and 6 types of chillies and sambal was prepared.

Kerabu station
They have prepared more than 8 types of kerabu! How could you not to try them?

Pineapple & cucumber kerabu, lemongrass squid, Glass noodel with prawn, Borneo style prawns salad, local spiced with vegetable, Kerabu jantung pisang

One of my favourite is glass noodle with prawn. Nah.. I don't like to eat prawn. Glass noodle is my favourite. Although I didn't have the glass noodle together with the prawn, it still tasted good. The glass noodle was served cold.

Pesembor berlauk with peanut gravy
This was like the ROJAK we usually had at mamak stall. Mix everything together with the peanut gravy and it just taste great!

Beside local foods, there are also some other cuisine serve on this ramadhan feast.

Salad Bar

Fresh seafoods

Fruit to detox every you had :)

Decorations that fit the theme - Taste of 1 Malaysia

If you still have room for dessert, try the delicious freshly made Apam Balik (Malaysian style folded pancakes filled with peanut, corn and sugar). Beside that, there are also an assortment of traditional Nyonya and Malay style kuih and Raya cookies to fulfil our sweet cravings for a prefect end.
