Sid's Birthday Celebration @ SOULed Out, Ampang

Knowing Sid for more than a year and cos of him, I got the chance to meet more bloggers and now, we (bloggers) are so close to each other. We will hug each other when we meet especially when we didn't meet for 1 or 2 weeks. Yeap! That's how close within us.

Back to last Friday - 25.11.11, it was Sid's birthday and there was a little birthday celebration for him at SOULed OUT, Ampang. At the same time, we were invited to enjoy the Tiger Crystal Exclusive Food Pairing Session as well.

Tiger Crystal provides distinctively refreshing moments for consumers who are looking forward to try something different. This time around, Tiger Crystal collaborates with SOULed OUT, Ampang to demonstrate eclectic western and Northern Indian food paired with the refreshingly crisp, easy drinking lager.

It was my first time here and I truly like the cosy and comfortable environment which I will prefer this outlet compared to the one at Sri Hartamas.

Guess what? They have already set up the Christmas decoration and I was thrilled to be there where I start to feel the joyful of this festive season.

Drinks menu and also the menu for the night written on the write paper. We gonna have 4 types of starters, 4 main course and one sinful dessert.

While waiting for others, we ordered fruit juice and cocktail to kick start the night.

left: Dragonfly (signature) - RM13
It was a signature drink and definitely, we will give it a try. It was a mixed of red dragon fruit, watermelon, strawberry puree, and fresh lemon juice. A holistic secret recipe to give your body a much needed oooomph! and also..... for detox purpose!

right: Silk Road - RM13
A mixed of orange, ginger, cucumber and lemon juice. It was an extraordinary orange juice.

There are more selections of juices at your own choice.

Lychee Mojito
A refreshing taste with the mix of lime, mint and also topped with lychee.

It was Friday night and many people were here to enjoy Happy Hour! Besides, they were few tables of guests were celebrating birthday too. What a coincidence!

Cheese Nachos - RM20
Topped with generous cheese and it was nicely gooey with the nachos. It was a good light bites to kick start the dinner.

Deep fried chicken wings - RM18
It just simply taste good!

Friend Calamari - RM18
Chewy calamari and crispy at the outer. Best to go with the sauce provided and it takes a mere moments to finish it. Everyone love it.

Tofu puffs - RM13
The sauce provided was the same one with the fried calamari. This wasn't a simple rounded tofu puffs. There were some awesome "treasures" inside.

Besides tofu, there were carrots, prawns, mushrooms and vegetables. The adequate ingredients create an awesome and tasty light bites.

Beef Espetada - RM85
Here come our first main course. This was one of the best dish that night. It took some times for us to wait the dish to be served. Great foods are worth to wait, isn't it?

It was a 400g charbroiled ribeye meat skewers marinated with garlic, laurel leaves and rock salt.

It also served with roast vegetables and baked potato.

Salad and 2 sauces - black pepper and mushroom sauce was given.

She was the friendly and sweet waitress who served us that night.  Beef was sliced into small pieces and we can share with everyone.

It wasn't a well-done one but it taste good with this condition. Meat was reddish and tender. I tried it with the 2 sauces given, I will suggest to go with the mushroom sauce because the taste of the beef was rich and it goes well with a mild sauce. I did tried it with the black pepper sauce but it doesn't taste as good as the previous one. This is because both beef and black pepper taste strong and rich.

Miso Grouper - RM28
Grouper fillet and scallop marinated in miso and grilled to perfection. Shallot rice and vegetable ribbons were served together. Rice smell aromatic and taste good.

Masala Chicken Chop - RM25
Chicken marinated in buttermilk and masala grilled and served with roasted vegetable and wedges.

Sizzling Lamb Cutlet - RM30
Lamb cutlet marinated in special Indian herbs, served on sizzling plate and served with naan. Recommend this dish to all the spice lovers, the lamb cutlet was spicy and flavourful. 

Warm and fluffy naan to goes with the lamb cutlet.

Seafood spaghetti
I usually don't go for "dry" spaghetti cos it doesn't taste as good as carbonara or bolognese spaghetti. I came with surprise when I first taste the seafood spaghetti above. It was flavourful and doesn't taste plain & dry.

Bananarama - RM23
Awesome and sinful dessert of the night!

It was a grilled bananas wrapped in vanilla crepes with 3 scoops of ice cream, topped with strawberries and whipped cream, and also the crispy corn-flakes.

there is another dessert that night.!

"Berries" birthday cake with all the strawberries, bluberries, redberries on the top of the cake.

  3. the beef was definitely yummy and i think i ate so much nachos that i was actually quite full by the time the mains arrive:-(

    dessert bananarama was yummy. love the banana crepe. full...but i wanted to eat more:P
