Bangkok 2013: Roast Coffee & Eatery

Thursday, September 26, 2013

What do you usually have for breakfast when traveling in Bangkok? The buffet line provided by the hotel? Food court? or street food? Since this was my second time traveled to Bangkok, I did some research on "cafes in Bangkok". I stumbled upon Lady Iron Chef's blog on 10 cafes in Bangkok. Roast Coffee & Eatery is one of the best cafe in Bangkok, claimed by LadyIronChef thus we decided to have our brunch here after check-in in a hotel on the first day. I can't wait to visit cafes in Bangkok!!! Let's GO!!

Hmmm... looks yummy.. :p

Our hotel located at Pratunam area, so we took a ride on the tuk-tuk to Roast which takes 15 - 20 minutes drive, 250 baht per way. Else you can take the BTS, Thonglor Station. Don't take taxi because you will definitely stuck in the traffic. The tuk-tuk driver don't know about Roast, so ask them to fetch you to Thong Lor Soi 13 and you will easily reach there.

Main entrance of Roast Coffee & Eatery.

Roast is located at second floor of Seenspace.

We really love the overall ambiance and concept, simple yet charming interior design of this cafe consisting different types of seating with cozy sofas & pillows. Wines are display on the wooden cabinet and light bulb & plants are hanging on the ceiling. Ohya, there will be a TED to welcome you once you enter the cafe.

I like the area where a piece of beautiful painting hanged on the concrete wall. It looks like you're dining at home right? Especially there's a set of sofa and table. The cafe was really crowded during brunch and most of the tables were occupied. We were seated at one the corner with a lower table and sofa, similar to the picture below.

Here's the TED.

The newspaper-inspired menu.

Lychee lemon tea and green tea latte.

Fresh salmon with hashed potato, salad and mayonnaise dressing.
The salmon was really fresh and it served thinner slices compared to the sashimi we usually have. It was really delicious especially after we squeezed the lemon over the salmon and vege.

Crab Cake Benedict
Egg pouch with crab meat, hashed potato, asparagus, grilled tomato..

It is a special dish where the chef combined egg pouch and crab meat together.
Worth to give it a try.

Overall, we were satisfied with the foods and drinks.
The total bill was 979 baht.

Roast is located at SeenSpace 13 and quite easy to find this place.
